If Cabernet Sauvignon is the king of the wines then Pinot Noir is the black prince. It is lighter, it is darker and sometimes it is better. You will see it why.

If you drink a Burgundy Red remember that that is mostly from Pinot Noir. That is the most important secret of it. SOme expensive one reach top of its age at 15-20 year! Especially at cooler climates. Either you drink cheaper or expensive wine you always feel the taste of rosemary, black cherry and cinnamon. Nowadays anywhere you travel you will find different wines.

While also Champagne makers are using Pinot Noir for their bottles the typical area is wine making. A special option is Pinot Noir Rouge. Suggested temperature for drinking is 45 Fahrenheit. There are not many red wines which can consumed in such a low temp like this.

In Germany where they called it “Late Burgundian” find a bottle of Undone Pinot Noir with its plum hinting. A nice wine.

New Zealand not just about sunshine. Many cloudy and foggy days are there. That’s why they planted many Pinot Noir. Due to cooler climate they also make premium wines such as Amisfield Pinot Noir. This fruit-driven early matured wine a great gift as well. It has mocca and spicy flavors.

While California has the most Pinot Noir in America, we have to talk about Oregon too. Oregon wines are young. This state has similar climate like region Burgundy so farmers have chance to make quality. And they make it like Henry Estate Pinot Noir (2006). Surprisingly it has vanilla flavor too. One of the best sub-region is Willamette Valley there with so many wine tours and wineries.

Now California is the next one. Shiny state favorite Russian River Valley. You can find here Kenwood Russian River Pinot Noir from the foggy, Oceanic climate.

Cooler climate gives the advantages for this excellent grape and the farmers to make great wines of it. This is Pinot Noir.

Enjoy your wine!
