Everytime I attend a wedding, I cannot help but wonder if the cake is actual or not. I mean I know the base layer of the cake is actual but if it is a 3 or five tier cake, is the rest genuine or not? I suppose I will certainly not know due to the fact I personally believe that it would be embarrassing for the couple to confide that kind of knowledge. And I am merely a guest so I would have to respect their particular privacy regarding that matter.
Anyway, to those who wouldn’t want to be in that kind of situation when your wedding day comes, I suggest that you come up with newer yet more affordable alternatives when it comes to the wedding cake. If you’re going to take a quick internet tour on the latest trends when it comes to wedding cakes and such, you will see other things than just cake. You will see cupcakes that are put together in layers to form or resemble a cake. There are those that are packed individually in transparent plastic boxes with pretty ribbons for you to be able to stack it easily. The last thing you want is for your wedding cake or wedding cupcakes to collapse even before you eat or distribute it.
This reminds me of some wedding concepts that I have seen at a recent wedding expo at the mall last week. It has always been a tradition that only the newly wed couple may eat their wedding cake while the guests watch them feed each other. Nowadays, you can even share the wedding cake with all the guests and make it your wedding souvenir as well. Isn’t that a good way saving up on dessert and souvenir? You get to share your “wedding cake” with your guests and everyone else which they could eat as dessert after the main course and at the same time, they can take a picture of it as a souvenir before eating it. I think it’s very practical and it will actually save you a lot of money.
You could even design the cupcakes according to your interest. The traditional wedding cake will absolutely cost you an arm if you are going to have just one custom-made for almost everyone to share but with cupcakes, each just one may be designed as the others and it’ll obviously taste just as heavenly as the real wedding cakes, only in smaller servings.
You may even have it dipped in either white or dark chocolate before you have the other details designed onto each cupcake. Some meticulous customers and clients prefer to have each one hand-made while some wouldn’t mind having edible ink printed on fondant to make it easier and to be able to produce more cupcakes in lesser time.
Personally, I think it doesn’t matter whether you’re going to have a real wedding cake on your wedding reception or if you prefer to have a stack of wedding cupcakes fabulously designed to fit your big day. What matters is that you get by the special day successfully without having to suffer any consequences in the end. Sometimes, people tend to overspend and we go beyond our means. Being practical also means being creative in your own little ways to make sure that what you need is what you get.
